FY2009 faculty and staff contributions top $782,000!
The fiscal year ending June 30, 2009 was a remarkable year for faculty and staff giving at Creighton University. Gifts from faculty and staff help support the University's efforts toward increasing the number of students that experience a Creighton educatiuon, continuing groundbreaking research and serving the community in the Catholic, Jesuit tradition.
Last year, faculty and staff made tremendous contributions to the University...
- 587 individual Creighton employees made commitments totaling more than $782,000 to the University
- 18.8 percent of Creighton faculty and staff made a gift to the University
- An impressive $294,149 of last year’s donations were given or pledged as unrestricted, sustaining gifts toward the University’s area of greatest need.
Unrestricted, sustaining gifts are crucial in helping to provide the best Creighton experience for current students. These gifts can support the University's unrestricted general current funds, which are a major source of student financial aid. Of all the funding Creighton awards to undergraduate students for scholarships and financial aid, 92.2 percent comes from unrestricted general funds.
All giving to Creighton, regardless of gift method or designation, counts cumulatively as part of the comprehensive Willing to Lead campaign.
